And We're Off

It is Wednesday and tomorrow we leave for Solar Eclipse 2017.  Just less than 24 hours and we will be headed for the long, glorious trip North.  North, to the land of cooler, drier weather.  North, to the land of the flat, grasslands in front of treed mountains.  North to watch an event that has not happened in the continental US in over 30 years.  North to a much-needed vacation.

Because this week has been just as hectic as last week pictures were not taken.  What you missed:  the fourth window hatch was mounted with ease.  Oh, wait, that is wrong.  It was mounted with no problems with just one minor exception.  It was mounted UPSIDE down.  The K of "K"Line was welded into the hatch frame upside down.  Argh, my OCD.  Of items relating to Plan473 with a picture, I would like to report the third and final chicken swing works fantastic.  This is most timid of all little peepers, and she loves the swing.

The rest of the week was all preparations for the trip.  Camping gear had to be recovered from storage and ensured it was usable.  Totes had to be purchased to keep gear dry while riding in the back of the truck.  General road travel itinerary was developed.  And delivery of a special package containing Solar Eclipse stamps was picked up.  They change colors.  AWESOME!  Promise, when we get back to add a picture of them. Other items loaded were some light reading materials.  We, like to read in this family.  It is a bad addiction.

Just a note for further posts, cell phone and internet services will be limited in our travels.  No posts will be written until our return on Aug 22.  Besides I am on a vacation.  Here's to Solar Eclipse 2017!
