Time for Play

I never want the Kid to grow up and say all his parents did was work.  While there is plenty of work, there is plenty of play too.  One just needs to redefine the word play.  There has been plenty of time for LEGO building...

tree stump removal via the tonka truck...

some electric spider thingy build and modification...

and don't forget sailing.  Yes, practice sailing is still fun.

Now, if you are the Planner there is guitar practice.  As with the Kid, practice can still be fun.  Having never played a musical instrument in his life other than the nose harp in kindergarten or something along those lines, the Planner has taken up the guitar.  With my mom making the donation of her much-loved guitar, there was no cost lost if guitar hero is not in the Planners' future.

If you are the dog, then play is defined as... Who knows she is a dog. Her wanting to come inside and being banned outside is not play or fun, but it is funny.  Well, it is funny when she yodels.

Now if you are me, then the play comes with food.  Don't lecture.  It is fun to play with your food. The statement you are confusing is: don't play with your food.  Your parents never said it wasn't fun to play with your food, they said don't play with your food.  Food is fun.  Especially when this fun find is involved.  Having bought pork belly on clearance at the local food store, I made this discovery while frying up many batches for bacon fat.  Who knew they literally meant pork belly.

Then there were these beauties.  Chocolate cinnamon rolls.  Delish.  Chocolate powder sugar drizzle would have been better on top but I was watching calories.  Ice cream would have been good too.  Chocolate of course.  Chocolate with nuts.

And the creme de le creme of playing with food: making sausage.  1200lbs of sausage might classify as not playing but with a crew of this size, the work was quickly done.  As the usual, boys being boys the typical remarks are made about making sausage.  Year after year.  One would think the comments would get old.  Guess you have to be a boy to appreciate it.

And finally, how fun was this: parking in an Aveo only section.  My beep-beep at a 2005 Model and still an Aveo, the black as the 2017 model and is now called a Sonic, and the blue is somewhere in between model and is the baseline Spark model.  All the same concept.  Aveo, Spark, Sonic: all Daewoos.  So see, we have fun.
